Cameroon:2 suicide bombers killed in the Northern part
Two members of the vigilance committee of Djakana village were injured by the explosion, he said.
The second girl, who was also carrying explosives, was shot dead by soldiers of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR).
Cameroon’s
Far North Region has been severely affected by attacks, raids and
kidnappings perpetrated by the Boko Haram militant group.
Last
week, three suicide bombers were killed near a market in Cameroon's Far
North while they were trying to explode their bombs.
A military source said the two suicide bombers came from neighboring Nigeria.
"We
are constantly in fear and we do not know who to trust. The borders are
open and suicide bombers can enter the Cameroonian territory at any
time," Bouba Hamadou, a trader in the region said.
Approximately
26 million people in the Lake Chad region have been affected by the
Boko Haram violence and more than 2.6 million displaced, according to UN
Refugee Agency.
