Cameroon – Adele Atangana: Former CRTV news presenter sentenced to pay 2.6 million CFA F
After her suspension in CRTV for “imitation of signatures of certain CRTV officials and belated response to a request for explanation,”
Former Director of the CRTV Professional Training Centre (CFPA), has
just been sentenced for destruction of property and disturbance by the
court of Mfou.
She has to pay 2.6 million CFA Francs to Mr. Kamgue Ntouma and 190,000 CFA francs to the prosecution.
According to information obtained from victims, the case involves a
land dispute with a 1000m2 plot disputed at a place called Nkongoa, 10
km from Yaounde, going towards Mfou.
Adele Atangana Mballa who is the neighbor, reportedly said she did “not want to cohabit with bamileke people, for fear of having a piggery (pig fence) near her house.”
The former director of the CFPA would have initially asked to
purchase the land before attempting to clear out the owners by means of
influence and her relations in the administration. To put her ambitions
into execution, she proceeded to destroy the walls already built.
Thus the appointed Kamgue Ntouma, owner of the premises, took the case to court which resulted in the decision mentioned above, for damages caused.
