USA : Teacher Caught Having Sex With 17-Year-Old Student in Cemetery
Kelly Aldinger, 49, turned herself in to Easton police Tuesday morning and was charged with institutional sexual assault stemming from an alleged May 6 incident involving a junior at Easton Area High School.
According to court records obtained by The Morning Call,
an Easton Police officer on patrol spotted a car parked at the Easton
Cemetery and could see a male and female inside having sex.
When questioned, police say Aldinger admitted she was a substitute teacher at the high school.
Records also reportedly indicate Aldinger told authorities she met the
boy years before when she was a substitute teacher in his class at
Easton Middle School.
Cops say the teen and the teacher both told police they had been sexually involved since the fall of 2015, when the boy was 16.
In court Tuesday, Aldinger's attorney said his client's jobs with her employer Source4Teachers have been canceled.
Source4Teachers said in a statement to InsideEdition.com that Aldinger has been suspended.
"Given the nature of the allegations and our policy for dealing
with such matters, Source4Teachers has indefinitely suspended the
substitute from all jobs in all of our partner districts pending a
thorough investigation," the statement read.
Source4Teachers wants parents to know that all the subsitutes they hire must first pass rigorous background checks.
"Source4Teachers hires only those employees who meet the
criteria laid out by the Pennsylvania Department of Education," the
statement read. "The safety of students is always Source4Teachers’ top
priority. We are cooperating with the District and law enforcement to
provide any necessary information or assistance they need to perform
their investigation and resolve this matter."
Aldinger's attorney, Josh Fulmer, told InsideEdition.com his client
intends to plead not guilty, but that the current charges could
potentially change.
Aldinger has two children ages 17 and 21. She told the
judge that she's moved out of the home she shared with her husband and
children to her parents' home in the past week.
Bail for Aldinger was set at $50,000. She's due back in court May 31.
