''33 years in darkness'' ;
this is a statement that has certainly brought the Bangolan fondom in a state
of chaos for the past three months, as if to say ''99 days for the thief
and 1 day for the owner'' an old adage that seems to be animating the
minds of many bangolan elites who had written a 15 page Memo to the powers that
be , justifying the actions of the people.
It all started when Fon chafah Isaac of Bangolan animated by his claims to have received the call of God and has become a ‘born again’ invited his spiritual guide, a certain John Chi for a spiritual expedition to the Bangolan Palace. Both men invaded the Palace with Tons of Salts and other spiritual gadgets for the rituals which culminated to the digging of the ‘ancestral stone’ in the bangolan palace. This according to the grassfield tradition and Bangolan village in particular is a sacrilege .

After several consultations
between the ‘’Ngumba’’, a secret society, and the Traditional council, the ‘’Ngumba’’
decided to dethrone Fon Chafah Isaac, and to that effect replace him by HRH
Tsemetong Salim whose initiation was abruptly interrupted by the presence of
governor Lélé Lafrique of the north West region of Cameroon.
Bangolan was therefore
characterized by mass arrests and opening of life bullets on innocent
individuals clamouring for their rights.
According to the ‘’ngumba’’ and a
cross section of the the Bangolan people, the reign of Chafah Isaac has been
characterized by ; injustice, dictatorship, slow socio-economic
development, lost of bangolan’s cultural heritage amongst others.
The mismanagement of palace
project money and the defilement of the Bangolan throne appear to be the last
stroke that break the carmel’s back.
The Bangolan village has been
divided into two camps : the pro Isaac and the Pro Salim. Today, more than
30 people are under detention in Ndop including the new Bangolan Fon.
The Bangolan natives have given their full support to their New fon who is under detention , and are determined to do so what ever the cost. For them, HRH Tsemetong Salim is their Nelson Mandela, the image of a new Bangolan, a wind of change, the people's voice... They say their ex-fon is occupying the village palcae illegally according to their tradition and that Bangolan is the land of peace. ''We are anwerable only to our New 'Mbeh' one of the 'lotso' says.
